A jury of seven men and one woman began deliberations Tuesday in a federal gender discrimination case against Nike. The trial concluded after six days of testimony.
Four female employees originally filed the lawsuit in 2018. The plaintiffs alleged Nike fostered a culture of pay disparity and limited promotion opportunities for women.
Heather Hender is the final remaining plaintiff following settlements by three other women last year. Her legal team argued Nike failed to remedy systemic inequities even after senior managers attempted to address the corporate culture.
The jury may return a verdict at any time. Markets have not yet reacted to the commencement of deliberations.
