The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has initiated a significant expansion of its retail presence by partnering with over 7,000 neighborhood stores across the nation to provide basic banking services. Starting July 1, 2026, customers can open accounts, deposit, and withdraw cash at various retail outlets, including supermarkets, convenience stores, and pharmacies. This move, dubbed “May BPI Dito,” aims to enhance financial inclusion by converting everyday stores into micro-banking hubs, bypassing the need for traditional branch construction.

Currently, 1,369 of the partner stores are equipped for cash deposits and withdrawals. The initiative has already brought in over one million new depositors since its pilot phase. This expansion is a key part of BPI's strategy to make banking more accessible to all Filipinos. Also effective today, BPI has permanently removed transfer fees for transactions made through InstaPay and PESONet, a move expected to benefit its 9.5 million mobile app users.
