Bombardier Defense announced on July 14, 2026, that South Korea selected its Global 6500 aircraft for a national Electronic Warfare (EW) program. Korean Air formalized the purchase of two Global 6500 aircraft for this initiative.
This agreement builds on an October 2025 selection of four Global 6500 aircraft for South Korea’s Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) program. The new units will be configured for Stand Off Jammer (SOJ) missions to disrupt enemy signals from a distance.
The deal highlights increasing international demand for the Global 6500 platform in specialized military operations. Bombardier will present its defense solutions at the upcoming Farnborough International Airshow.
