Bombardier signs 20-year AIDC deal for 500 Challenger 3500 fuselages

Bombardier signed a 20-year strategic agreement with Taiwan’s Aerospace Industrial Development Corp. (AIDC) on September 7.

AIDC will manufacture the cockpit and forward fuselage components for Challenger 3500 business jets.

This contract expands a partnership that began in 1999.

AIDC previously produced the rear fuselage and now takes on the more complex forward section.

The agreement covers the full life cycle of the aircraft program.

AIDC expects to deliver components for at least 500 fuselages over the 20-year term.
