Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) faces operational disruptions at Mundra Port starting midnight on August 28. The Mundra Empty Container Yards & Allied Services Provider Association will suspend operations to protest a new policy effective September 1. This mandate requires all empty export-import containers to be handled exclusively within port limits.
The association argues the restriction threatens the viability of private businesses that invested heavily in infrastructure outside the port. APSEZ maintains the shift will reduce congestion and lower overall logistics costs. The company intends to improve security and efficiency by replicating the model used at Dubai’s Jebel Ali port.
