Comstock Resources formed a $1.65 billion strategic partnership with SOCAR, Azerbaijan’s state-owned energy company. This alliance targets the development of Comstock’s natural gas assets in the Haynesville shale basin. The capital infusion will accelerate the company’s exploration and development activities.
Comstock also established a $450 million drilling joint venture with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. The Jones family partnership will fund the drilling and completion of 27 wells in the Western and Legacy Haynesville areas over the next year. This venture supports the delineation and development of Comstock’s large regional acreage.
These combined deals total over $2.1 billion. The investments signal strong confidence in U.S. natural gas and the Haynesville shale specifically. Participation from an international state-owned firm and a prominent domestic investor underscores the asset value of regional producers.
