A Beijing court held the first hearing for a class-action lawsuit. Ten Tesla owners brought the suit. They allege consumer fraud and misleading advertising over the company's Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature.

Plaintiffs seek over 3.95 million yuan in damages. This amounts to approximately $583,000. They claim the FSD system does not deliver promised autonomous capabilities. They also state the system was sold without full regulatory approval in China.

The lawsuit argues Tesla concealed hardware limitations. The FSD feature is not fully compatible with older HW3.0 hardware. This affects vehicles purchased between 2019 and 2021. Owners contend they bought the FSD package based on unfulfilled promises.

Tesla countered in court that some FSD functions are operational. Others remain in development. This case marks China's first collective legal challenge regarding Tesla's FSD promises.
