State Bank of India (SBI) and SBI Capital Markets will sell a combined 1% stake in the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The divestment will occur during the exchange's proposed ₹30,000-crore initial public offering.
SBI plans to sell a 0.65% stake, while its subsidiary SBI Capital Markets will divest 0.35%. SBI currently maintains a 3.23% holding in the NSE. SBI Capital Markets holds a separate 4.33% stake in the exchange.
Chairman C S Setty confirmed the sale and noted no current plans to monetize other subsidiary stakes.
