CEO Cristiano Amon announced the initiative following an August 27 meeting in Hanoi. Amon met with To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, to discuss the company's strategic focus. The CEO identified Vietnam as an increasingly vital market and technology center for Qualcomm in Asia.
The company will concentrate R&D efforts on semiconductors, 5G/6G, and connected computing. This strategy aims to leverage global investments to foster local talent development and technology transfer.
