MTN Ghana will invest over $1.1 billion to expand its network and launch 5G services. The commitment covers a three-year period. Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations announced the plan on September 7, 2026.

The capital injection targets network improvements and service extensions for underserved communities. MTN allocated approximately $380 million for the current year to expand coverage. The company plans to deploy 800 new cell sites in total. This project marks the firm's largest annual infrastructure build in a decade. The rollout prioritizes rural and peri-urban areas.

Bloomberg News reported that MTN Group is meeting with Eurobond investors for the first time in 10 years. MTN Nigeria also issued interim dividend payments to shareholders today following an August announcement.
