Cheniere Energy is commissioning the seventh train at its Corpus Christi Stage 3 expansion project in Texas.

This follows the substantial completion of the sixth train in June.

The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved introducing propane into the thermal oxidizer and hot oil furnace for Train 7.

The full seven-train expansion will add over 10 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG production capacity.

Cheniere expects to complete the full expansion later this year.

Train 7 may reach substantial completion as early as August or September.

The company is pursuing further expansions at the Corpus Christi site to increase total production capacity.
