Kratos Defense & Security Solutions successfully completed flight tests of its TDI-J85 turbojet engine in multiple configurations. The tests validated the engine for lugged, palletized and surface-to-surface launches, demonstrating its suitability for cruise missiles, decoys and unmanned aerial systems.
Kratos confirmed the engine is production-ready and has placed component orders to build more than 3,000 engines in 2027.
The company said its manufacturing facility is positioned to produce more than 10,000 engines annually by 2029 to meet growing demand for high-volume, low-cost propulsion systems.
