Kratos Defense & Security Solutions and partner Airbus completed the first European test flight of the U740 Valkyrie uncrewed combat aircraft at a facility in Northern Europe. The flight met all objectives, including a rocket-assisted takeoff and maneuvers at speeds up to Mach 0.8.

The U740 is a version of Kratos’s XQ-58A Valkyrie adapted for European forces and will be equipped with Airbus’s proprietary MARS mission system. The flight marks a milestone in the partnership’s effort to deliver a combat-ready Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) to the German Air Force and other European customers by 2029.

The program aims to pair the uncrewed Valkyrie with crewed fighter jets such as the Eurofighter to enhance firepower and survivability.
