More than 20 European news publishers are suing Google for over €640 million (£552 million). The group alleges the company abused its dominant position in the advertising technology market.

The publishers claim Google’s anti-competitive behavior resulted in lower advertising revenues and higher service fees. This legal action follows a European Commission ruling that found Google guilty of market abuse.

That regulatory decision enables affected parties to seek damages through national courts. Litigation finance firm LitFin is funding the publishers' case.
