Anthropic launched a unified memory feature for its Claude AI assistant. This update enables seamless context retention between the chat interface and the Cowork agent tool.
Users no longer need to repeat project details or preferences when switching between conversation and automated tasks. The feature is active by default for all users, including those on free plans.
Anthropic provides granular controls for viewing, editing, or deleting specific memories by topic. Users may also opt-in to allow Claude to remember sensitive subjects, which the system blocks by default.
