Google has released the Fitbit Air, a screenless fitness tracker priced at $99, positioning it as a direct and more affordable competitor to Whoop. The device, which began shipping on May 26, is designed for continuous, ambient health monitoring without the distractions of a screen. It focuses on a lightweight, comfortable design for 24/7 wear and features a seven-day battery life.

The Fitbit Air tracks a range of health metrics, including 24/7 heart rate, sleep patterns, skin temperature, and blood oxygen (SpO2) levels, and includes irregular heart rhythm notifications. While core tracking features are free, advanced AI-powered insights and coaching require a Google Health Premium subscription at $9.99 per month. The device works with both Android and iOS and can be paired simultaneously with a Pixel Watch.
