GE Aerospace agreed to a $36 million settlement with the U.S. Department of State. This agreement resolves 116 violations of the Arms Export Control Act and International Traffic in Arms Regulations. The breaches included unauthorized exports of technical data to the People's Republic of China.

The company also violated authorizations from the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. GE Aerospace voluntarily disclosed the violations, which primarily occurred before 2023.

The consent agreement spans a 36-month period. The State Department suspended $18 million of the total penalty. GE Aerospace will use these funds for department-approved remedial compliance measures.

The settlement mandates an external Special Compliance Officer for at least two years. This officer will oversee the company's adherence to federal export regulations.
