GE Aerospace and India’s state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) finalized an agreement to jointly manufacture F414 jet engines in India. The deal follows approximately three years of development.
This co-production pact aims to modernize India’s air force and advance domestic defense manufacturing capabilities. The agreement includes the transfer of manufacturing expertise to India.
The F414 engines will power India’s next generation of fighter jets. GE Aerospace expects a substantial long-term revenue stream from production, aftermarket services, and spares.
Financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed. This partnership solidifies GE’s strategic position within the Indian defense market.
