BYD will invest up to R$ 500 million to expand battery energy storage system (BESS) production in Brazil. The company is evaluating an expansion of its Manaus factory or the construction of a new industrial plant. This project could create up to 400 jobs and reinforce the local energy storage supply chain.
The investment aligns with Brazil's renewable energy market and BYD's global stationary battery expansion. The automaker also marked its 100,000th vehicle delivery in the UK. Other recent milestones include installing its first European flash charger and entering the South Korean plug-in hybrid market.
