BYD Company Limited announced a long-term strategy to establish four factories across Europe. The plan includes three vehicle assembly plants and one dedicated electric vehicle battery facility. Alfredo Altavilla, an advisor for European operations, disclosed the initiative in Turin on September 17, 2026.
The company is currently negotiating with European governments and automakers to acquire underutilized sites in France, Spain, and Italy. This strategy aims to accelerate market entry while adhering to local manufacturing regulations.
BYD’s overseas revenue surpassed its domestic revenue for the first time during the first half of 2026. The company now intends to manufacture vehicles within the specific regions where they are sold to satisfy rising consumer demand.
