BYD will launch its first heavy-duty electric truck in Europe next year. Executive Vice President Stella Li announced the expansion at the IAA trade fair in Hanover.
The manufacturer aims to produce all vehicles sold in the region locally. This strategy seeks to establish BYD as a European company and mitigate the impact of potential import tariffs.
The move into the commercial truck sector follows the ongoing construction of a passenger car factory in Hungary.
BYD will also offer fleet operators a comprehensive service package. This includes financing, charging infrastructure, and a dedicated workshop network.
