India's state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) appointed a BP subsidiary as a technical service provider to increase hydrocarbon production from its western offshore fields.

The 10-year contract covers all Western Offshore assets, excluding the Mumbai High field. BP will leverage its global expertise to improve recovery from these mature fields.

This agreement expands on a January 2025 partnership for the Mumbai High field. That previous engagement showed early results in stabilizing production declines.

Under the new deal, BP will optimize wells, enhance surveillance, and debottleneck facilities.

The collaboration is projected to potentially boost crude oil output by 10.8% over the contract period.

Natural gas output is projected to potentially rise by 31.5% over the same timeframe.
