Bayerische Motoren Werke AG is recalling 189,130 vehicles.

The recall affects 3-Series, 5-Series, and 7-Series models.

A faulty starter motor relay creates a potential fire risk.

Inadequate protection against water ingress can cause internal corrosion and electrical short circuits.

Affected units were manufactured between July 29, 2014, and November 12, 2020.

BMW will replace the starter motors free of charge.
