The U.S. Department of Defense awarded Boeing an $855 million contract modification on May 27, 2026. This agreement funds the production and delivery of four P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.
The aircraft are designated for international customers through the Foreign Military Sales program. Naval Air Systems Command will manage the contract and associated non-recurring engineering work.
The project provides software and hardware updates to address material shortages and diminishing manufacturing sources. Boeing will perform the work in Seattle, Washington, with completion scheduled for September 2030.
