Boeing said in its third-quarter earnings report that it is delaying its next 737 MAX production increase to 52 jets per month until mid-to-late 2027. The company now expects to stabilize production at 47 jets per month in early 2027, later than its previous target of this year.

CEO Kelly Ortberg cited persistent constraints in wing production as the main reason for the slower ramp-up. He said overall factory performance is improving, but wing supply is not yet stable enough to support higher output.

Boeing also said it will miss its target of delivering 500 737s in 2026. The announcement was followed by a significant drop in Boeing’s stock price.
