Production of Boeing’s 777 freighter has been stopped for nearly two months because of a dispute with Vaero, a Florida-based supplier. Vaero is the sole supplier of a critical wing component, the trailing-edge rib kit, and stopped deliveries.

The disruption has also affected production of the 767, including its freighter and military tanker variants. Boeing filed a complaint in August, saying the halt was costing as much as $6.5 million per day.

The companies reached a settlement in late September, but production of the 777 freighter had not resumed as of late October. Boeing is reportedly working to bring manufacturing of the essential part in-house to reduce supply-chain vulnerability.
