Amazon.com, Inc. launched a national less-than-truckload (LTL) freight network on June 12, 2026. This initiative targets the economy segment to bolster the company’s logistics and distribution infrastructure. The network positions Amazon to compete directly with established freight and logistics providers.

Amazon is also reportedly discussing a potential acquisition of Forward Air. Forward Air specializes in time-sensitive shipping services. The deal would expand expedited delivery capabilities for third-party sellers and internal retail operations.
