Amazon's autonomous vehicle subsidiary, Zoox, has expanded its commercial robotaxi service to include pick-ups and drop-offs at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. The company is the first to offer a fully driverless ride-hailing service at the airport, with operations beginning on September 1, 2026, across both main terminals.
This expansion follows Zoox's move to begin charging for its Las Vegas rides on August 10, after initially launching a free service in September 2025. The paid service was enabled by a commercial exemption from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), permitting the deployment of its purpose-built autonomous vehicles. The move into one of the nation's busiest airports intensifies competition in the autonomous vehicle sector, particularly with Google's Waymo, which also operates in Las Vegas.
