Amazon has rebranded its e-book subscription service, Kindle Unlimited, as Kindle+. The monthly price remains $12, and the core offering is unchanged: unlimited access to a large catalog of e-books, magazines, and comics. Subscribers can borrow up to 20 titles at a time.
The main enhancement is a significant expansion of the audiobook library, including titles narrated by artificial intelligence. The feature, called Virtual Voice, lets authors in the Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) program create audiobook versions of their e-books at no cost.
These AI-narrated books are distinct from human-narrated titles available on platforms such as Audible.
