Tesla launched its Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised system in China on May 21, 2026. This release expands the company's operations in one of the world's largest automotive markets.

The system requires active driver supervision and does not provide full vehicle autonomy. Tesla is working with Chinese regulators to secure broader approval for its fully autonomous technology by the third quarter of 2026.

The company is hiring autopilot testing staff in multiple Chinese cities to support the rollout. This launch follows a lengthy regulatory approval process.
