ExxonMobil announced on August 3, 2026, that its liquefied natural gas (LNG) pipeline will expand beyond the Middle East. Chairman and CEO Darren Woods confirmed the company is progressing major international developments to diversify its production portfolio.
The expansion strategy aims to meet rising global demand for natural gas. ExxonMobil expects to reach final investment decisions on its Mozambique and Papua New Guinea LNG projects later in 2026.
These developments will significantly strengthen the company's market position outside of its traditional Middle East operations.
