Sweden’s Transport Administration recommended the European Union reject Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature. The agency demands Tesla disable the system's ability to exceed legal speed limits.

The agency sent the recommendation to the EU’s Technical Committee on Motor Vehicles. The committee discusses the matter on June 30.

Swedish officials argue that systematic speeding undermines legal frameworks and vehicle safety benefits. The Netherlands’ regulatory body (RDW) currently supports the EU-wide approval.

EU approval remains critical for Tesla’s growth strategy amid rising competition. This regulatory hurdle creates uncertainty for a technology central to Tesla’s long-term valuation.
