RTX secured a $904.6 million contract from the U.S. Army to produce the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS). This agreement accelerates the deployment of the next-generation radar system.

The LTAMDS provides 360-degree coverage to defend against complex and multi-directional missile attacks. This technology addresses critical gaps in current air and missile defense capabilities.

The award supports the scaling of LTAMDS production for delivery to operational units. This fielding serves as a core component of the U.S. Army’s air defense modernization strategy. Work on the contract is expected to conclude by August 2031.
