NASA unveils $20 billion Moon Base plan, boosting aerospace sector growth

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman revealed the architecture for a $20 billion Moon Base initiative on May 26, 2026. The agency is shifting its primary focus from the orbital Lunar Gateway to direct surface infrastructure.

The plan utilizes an 81-launch, three-phase strategy to reach its goals. NASA aims to establish a permanent human outpost at the lunar South Pole by 2036.

The program relies on commercial partnerships to expand the long-term pipeline for aerospace contractors. This strategy supports the lunar economy and benefits specialized ETFs including UFO, MARS, and XAR.
