Lockheed Martin announced today that it has completed its acquisition of Ultra Maritime, a global defense company specializing in advanced anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capabilities. The deal adds sonar systems, sonobuoys and torpedo defense systems to Lockheed Martin’s portfolio as naval forces worldwide face increasing demand for undersea capabilities.
Ultra Maritime will be integrated into Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems business area. The integration is expected to create a broader suite of solutions for next-generation maritime platforms.
The acquisition strengthens Lockheed Martin’s position in the undersea domain, a key focus for the U.S. Navy and its allies. It also expands the company’s foothold in international markets and complements its existing naval systems.
