Hanwha Aerospace and Northrop Grumman signed a memorandum of agreement to develop the Advanced Reactive Strike (AReS) missile system. The partnership focuses on the first-stage solid-fuel propulsion for this new ground-launched long-range weapon.
The companies announced the deal at the SAS 2026 maritime and defense exhibition in National Harbor, Maryland. Hanwha will participate in the initial development stages, with a system demonstration scheduled for 2027.
This collaboration supports Hanwha’s strategy to enter the U.S. defense market through enhanced technological capabilities. Northrop Grumman stated the project will provide cost-effective solutions to maintain military superiority for the United States and its allies.
