Varonis Systems announced Agent Intent-Based Access Control (IBAC). This new capability for its Atlas platform provides safeguards for businesses connecting AI agents to enterprise data. It addresses risks of agents acting beyond their intended purpose or misusing access.
The tool monitors an AI agent's actions, including reasoning, tool usage, and data access. It compares these actions against assigned instructions.
If the system detects a deviation or "intent drift," it automatically blocks subsequent agent actions. It can also quarantine the session. This prevents potential data breaches or other harmful behavior.
