The U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee will mark up at least 10 bills on April 22 to expand semiconductor equipment export restrictions. This legislative package includes the STRIDE Act and the bipartisan MATCH Act to increase international coordination. These measures aim to strengthen the U.S. position in the global AI competition against China.

The MATCH Act would require companies in allied nations to align with Washington’s chip-control policies. This legislation impacts foreign equipment manufacturers including ASML and Tokyo Electron. U.S. firms such as Nvidia and AMD also face significant business implications from the proposed rules.

The bills target critical supply chain technologies including lithography, deposition, and inspection equipment.
