The Linux Foundation’s Agent-to-Agent (A2A) Protocol reached production-ready status one year after launch. More than 150 organizations now support the project. Google Cloud, Microsoft, and AWS have integrated the protocol into their major platforms.

The A2A protocol establishes an open standard for seamless communication between different AI agents. This interoperability prevents vendor lock-in across diverse platforms. The system enables the scaling of complex, autonomous operations.

Financial services, supply chain, and IT operations sectors have already deployed the protocol. It coordinates tasks across various tools and vendors. Google Cloud Vice President Rao Surapaneni stated the momentum prevents siloed connections that hinder scalability.
