Broadcom signed a long-term agreement with Google to design and supply custom Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) and networking components for AI data centers through 2031. Google is expanding its infrastructure to compete with Microsoft and OpenAI.

Anthropic will access approximately 3.5 gigawatts of this TPU-based computing capacity. This access begins in 2027 to support the training and operation of frontier AI models like Claude.

The deal marks Anthropic’s strategic transition toward custom silicon to meet rising customer demand. These agreements reinforce Broadcom’s expansion into the custom chip market beyond its core networking business.
