Broadcom and Meta extended their strategic partnership through 2029 to scale artificial intelligence infrastructure. The collaboration focuses on developing Meta’s custom Training and Inference Accelerator (MTIA) chips. Meta will utilize Broadcom’s custom accelerator platform and Ethernet technologies to build next-generation AI data centers.
The initial deployment phase will exceed one gigawatt of power. This engineering co-design supports generative AI features across Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads. The partnership aims to eliminate data bottlenecks within Meta’s expanding compute clusters.
