Energy Fuels Inc. submitted a 273-page operations and reclamation plan to New Mexico officials for its Mount Taylor uranium project. The proposed mine is located within the Cibola National Forest in McKinley County. The document details extraction methods for uranium deposits situated more than 1,600 feet below the surface.
The submission marks a concrete step toward bringing a major domestic uranium asset into production. This development follows a surge in regional exploration driven by rising global energy demand and U.S. efforts to bolster domestic supply. Other mining firms are also increasing exploration activity across New Mexico.
