United Microelectronics achieved a new level of sales in the second quarter of 2026. Wedbush Securities analysts view UMC's performance as part of a broader positive trend in the mature foundry market. Analysts attribute this strength to accelerated growth in data center demand. They also cite a more modest decline in consumer electronics than previously anticipated.

Wedbush analysts also believe UMC could see higher margins from planned price increases. The company recently reported strong June sales figures, which showed a significant year-over-year increase. Separately, SEC filings show QRG Capital Management Inc. increased its holdings in UMC during the first quarter.
