Unity launched immediate engine support for Meta’s new VR Glasses following their debut at the Meta Connect conference. The hardware is scheduled for a spring 2027 release. Developers can access the tools now to build and test experiences years before the launch.
The partnership allows studios to port existing Quest titles to the new device using a shared codebase. This cross-device compatibility streamlines development for reaching broader audiences. Several studios are currently using Unity to develop launch titles for the hardware.
Meta’s new VR Glasses are a lightweight, premium device priced at $1,299. The deal reinforces Unity’s position as a critical engine provider for the VR industry. Unity currently powers a majority of the top-selling games on Meta’s existing VR platform.
