Rockstar Games, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, has confirmed a data breach originating from a third-party vendor. The company stated that a "limited amount of non-material company information was accessed" and asserted the incident has "no impact on our organisation or our players."
The hacking group ShinyHunters has claimed responsibility, threatening to leak the stolen data if a ransom is not paid by April 14, 2026. The breach reportedly occurred through credentials obtained from Anodot, a cloud-cost analytics service used by Rockstar, which allowed access to the game developer's cloud data. ShinyHunters has a history of targeting large corporations such as Microsoft and Ticketmaster.
