Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is reportedly considering a large semiconductor production complex in Texas. Sherman is a leading candidate, but the company has not made a final site decision.

The proposed complex could include as many as six fabrication plants. Potential investment could total around $120 billion.

The expansion could help TSMC meet surging orders from major U.S. technology customers, particularly AI chip leaders NVIDIA and AMD. It would also intensify competition with Samsung Electronics, which already has a substantial and growing manufacturing presence in Texas. The plan aligns with U.S. government efforts to increase domestic chip production.
