Tesla expanded its unsupervised robotaxi service to cover the entire Austin, Texas, metropolitan area. This represents the fifth and largest expansion since the program launched in 2025. The service previously operated within a restricted geofenced zone.
The move signals growing confidence in Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology as the program transitions toward a commercial offering. Reports indicate the active fleet remains limited to between 20 and 42 vehicles. Tesla has not announced plans to increase the current fleet size.
