Tesla disclosed a $2 billion equity stake in SpaceX. This investment appeared in the company's Q1 2026 filing. The funding follows the merger of Elon Musk’s xAI into SpaceX.

Tesla partnered with Intel to construct a semiconductor facility in Texas called Terafab. The project aims to produce advanced chips for Tesla vehicles and SpaceX applications. Initial cost estimates for the facility reach $119 billion.

SpaceX IPO filings reveal the Terafab collaboration currently operates under a non-binding general framework. No formal agreements exist regarding capital or intellectual property. The project remains in early stages and is not yet finalized.
