Tesla has registered 42 automated vehicles for its Robotaxi service in Texas, according to state Department of Motor Vehicles filings.

By comparison, competitor Waymo has registered 577 authorized robotaxis in the state.

A new Texas law increases state oversight starting May 28, 2026.
