The U.S. Space Force awarded SpaceX a $4.16 billion contract to develop a satellite constellation for tracking moving aerial targets. This program, titled Space-Based Airborne Moving Target Indicator (SB-AMTI), will provide persistent global surveillance. Initial deployment is scheduled for 2028.
The contract arrives ahead of an expected public trading debut in June. SpaceX is targeting a record-breaking valuation of approximately $1.8 trillion. This long-term government revenue stream helps justify the company's financial footing to potential investors.
